For those that dont know
My boy Trey Songz has picked a fight with an RnB Legend. None other than R.DOT himself, R.Kelly. Wheather you like R.Kelly or not, you have to admit that the dude is amazingly talented.
Songz tried to clown Kelly for hopping on the Autotune bangwagon. Most would say that Trey is wrong for disrespecting such an artist with so much history, but I feel otherwise. The "Death of Autotune REMIX" D.O.A. track embarasses kelly for using the autotune. "KELLY YOU THE KING BUT YOU TRYNA BE THE DREAM. AY AY AY AY" Trey credits Kelly for being such an icon but frowns upon his use of the autotune. Kellz however has reponded with a diss record for trey songz, where he uses the autotune on the hook.
So what do you all think, Should Trey pick on R.Kelly because of this or is trey setting himself up with this recipe for disaster?
A.A.
Beef = publicity
ReplyDeleteR. Kelly been outta the loop for a hot min what is a better way to get his name back in the streets than a little R&B beef with the handsome Trey songs. R. Kelly is getting old and washed up he will soon be just like Charlie WIlson 70+ years old singing the the young ladies ....pass the torch R. Kelly and stay behind the scene you have had your time and your probably responsible for alot of these little kids running around here today with your baby making music...let some one else be King of Grind time lol
R can keep writing them hits though he has a great skill he is just not that appealing any more
to me atleast..
Trey Songz is in his prime. So he can say what he feels. Lol. But R. Kelly needs to step his game up with some real RnB or let the boy Songz do it. And don't forget to check out Trey's mixtape.
ReplyDeleteDefinetly agree with both of those statements. Songz is a major threat in the RnB game these days.
ReplyDeleteAli, first of all, I gotta say that the blog is hot and that I like what you're doing with this page. Secondly, someone is going to have to explain to me what gives Trey Songz the right to call out R.Kelly? What has he done to be able to call out a legend? None of his albums have sold out like Kelly's nor has he done anything in recent history to give him any credibility. I liked Trey Songz last album and gave him a lot of credit for his performance at the BET Awards but I don't think he should be calling out legends that opened doors for him such as R. Kelly. Without R. Kelly there would be no Trey Songz! With that being said, I still like what Trey Songz is trying to do professionally. It only makes sense with a new album coming out, to raise some sort of beef so that people will go and get the record to see if there is any disses to Kelly on there. And it's always said that if you want to be at the top of something you have to take out the top dawg, and I guess that's what Trey is striving for.
ReplyDeleteI hear you CED
ReplyDeleteTrey doesn't have alot to back up the diss record becuase he is still a youngin' in the game. The hottest things that he has made has been on the mixtape circuit. He's trying to be the 50Cent of the RnB game. He is going for a "BEEF" to sell his next album. But unlike 50Cent, Trey actually has amazing talent. I'm not condoning going at a legend so hard, but it puts a SPARK in the game. It kind of forces both of them to step up their game.
Trey has got a long way to go before he can catch Kelly, but i'm excited at the fact that he is calling him out so early in his career.
