Did Jay go too far with this???
He is dissing the Autotune and rapper who use it!
I for one am a fan of Autotune, but also agree with jay that rappers are relying too much on this to make a track hot.
Is it really that necessary or should artists fall back from using it???
T-pain should be the only one allowed to use Autotune

ReplyDeleteWhen me and my bro first heard this track,we didn't know how to react. We were like,"Is Jay really doing this?" First of all, Jay is kinda old to be calling out a trend in hip hop that a lot of people are using. I know where he is coming from though. Autotune is played, and once Ron Brownz got ahold of it up top, it became too much. It allows people with no talent at all to get on using a machine. It's like performance enhancing drugs in baseball. We have to rid of it! T-Pain revived it from the Roger days, and he should be the only person given consent to use it. It has become an enigma. Every rapper is trying to sing now because of it,and singers aren't even singing no more. They just go in the booth and play with autotune. Don't get me wrong. It needed to be said, but I don't know if Jay-Z was the person to do it. The Diplomats and Jim Jones already got on him about his age, and now that he's dropped this track it looks like he's even more out of touch with what is going on in the industry. I like autotune when used lightly. Leave the singing to the singers.

ReplyDeleteBut When a personality such as HOV says it, people will actually listen and try to back away from it a bit. Autotune used lightly enhances the track but its overdone these days.
And i love the analogy of steriods and autotune. It defiently is like a performce enhancing drug. Thats amazing CED. HAHAHA
